How It Works

From photo to poster
in four simple steps

No design experience required. Whether you're creating custom travel posters from a road trip, personalized national park posters as anniversary gifts, or vintage WPA art for your walls, the tool handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on the memory behind the picture.

  1. 01

    Upload your photo

Pick any photo from your latest park or travel adventure! JPG or PNG, the higher resolution the better.

  2. 02

    Pick a poster template

Choose from three unique layouts: vintage WPA national park posters, modern national park posters, or a retro travel-stamp look.

  3. 03

    Customize the type

Set the park name, subtitles, and framing. Tweak fonts, colors, and effects until it feels just right.

  4. 04

    Download & print

Export a high-resolution, print-ready file at standard poster sizes. Frame it. Hang it. Done.

The Artist

Hey, I'm Joseph

I'm a National Park obsessed hiking fiend, camping nut, software developing nerd, and graphic designer who has spent the better part of a decade chasing down visits and passport stamps of every single National Park with my wife.

This adventure grew out of a personal project — I wanted to gift my wife a WPA-style poster of one of our wedding photos from our elopement in Yosemite. I couldn't find an artist I liked, so I took to Photoshop and...

I made my own.
Then my friends wanted one.
Then strangers on Etsy wanted one.

So I opened a store and started selling custom posters and original digital prints as a side-gig.

But being a full time software developer, I wondered if I could design a tool to help others create their own posters without fancy software, advanced photoshop skills, or AI...

So, Park Poster Studio was born.

Everything you need to know before you start designing.

You get a high-resolution PNG file sized for standard poster printing — national park posters at 18x24 inches at 150 dpi or better. It's ready to upload directly to any print service or local print shop.

No account is required to design and download your poster. Creating a free account lets you save your custom national park posters to a personal collection so you can revisit and tweak them later.

The studio is free to use — design to your heart's content. A one-time $5 download fee unlocks the full-resolution export. After purchase, your rendered poster file is securely stored for 7 days so you can re-download it from any device, and then it is permanently deleted from our servers. No subscription, no hidden fees.

Absolutely — that's the whole point. Upload any JPEG or PNG from your camera roll, and we'll turn it into vintage, modern, or retro national park posters. The higher the resolution, the crisper your final print. Landscape orientation photos tend to work especially well.

No — original WPA national park posters from the 1930s and 40s are rare archival pieces held in collections like the Library of Congress. The studio creates new artwork inspired by that era, so you get the look of a vintage WPA poster while featuring your own photo and chosen park.

Yes. My Etsy shop carries printed-and-shipped custom WPA posters, modern national park posters, and framed options. I print on heavyweight matte archival paper for lasting quality.

I love custom work. Reach out through my Etsy shop with your photo and any style preferences — vintage WPA, modern, or retro. Custom commissions typically take 3-5 business days and I offer unlimited revisions until you're happy.

The downloaded PNG is sized for national park posters 18x24 or 12x16. Standard frame sizes like 16x20 or 18x24 from IKEA, Amazon, or your local craft store all work perfectly.

These are independent designs and are not affiliated with the National Park Service. They're inspired by the long tradition of US national park posters and travel art and are designed for personal use, gifts, and home decor.

Photos you upload are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to or stored on our servers while you're designing. The only file we keep is the final rendered poster after a paid purchase, which we hold for 7 days so you can re-download it, and then permanently delete. Free, unpaid designs are never uploaded.
